A vital part of the southern Nevada plumbing industry, Tom Gugino brings more than thirty-five years of experience to the IAPMO board of directors.

After completing his five-year apprenticeship with Local 525 in 1975, Gugino worked in the field as a journeyman and foreman until 1984. He began working for the city of Las Vegas, Nev. the following year, starting first as a plumbing and mechanical inspector and eventually becoming the plumbing and mechanical inspections supervisor in 1999.
Gugino is a member of the Overview Committee of the Southern Nevada Building Officials, which reviews and adopts plumbing and mechanical codes. He is also appointed to the Southern Nevada Board of Plumbing Examiners, which develops the journeyman and master plumber exams for Clark County.

A charter member of the Southern Nevada chapter, Gugino has been actively involved with IAPMO for nearly twenty years. He has served as vice chairman of his chapter and has served seven terms as chapter chairman. He is a member of the Product Certification Committee and the Standards Review Committee and also proctors exams for both IAPMO and NITC. A loyal supporter of IAPMO who is always at the ready to help, Gugino was the deserving recipient of the Government Person of the Year award in 2005.

In their spare time, Gugino and his wife Jeanne enjoy traveling to golf and tennis destinations with their twin boys, Tommy and Anthony. The Guginos hope to see all fifty states in the next ten years.
