CAUSE Committee
The Committee for the Awareness and Understanding of a Sustainable Environment plays a critical role in helping IAPMO fulfill its sustainability goals. This committee recommends ideas and strategies to the Board of Directors to fulfill IAPMO’s sustainability mission and oversees the development of materials that provide guidance, and best practices related to achieving sustainable construction.

Green Technical Committee
This Committee is responsible for developing the IAPMO Green Plumbing and Mechanical Supplement in addition to identifying specific technical recommendations/proposals for sustainability requirements to the Uniform Codes.  These requirements/proposals will be integrated into the Uniform Codes through the Consensus Code Development process.

UPC Answers & Analysis Committee
The UPC Answers and Analysis Committee is responsible for responding to technical questions on the provisions of the Uniform Plumbing Code as applied to specific situations.  Questions may be directed to the committee through the Code Development staff.

UMC Answers & Analysis Committee
The UMC Answers and Analysis Committee is responsible for responding to technical questions on the provisions of the Uniform Mechanical Code as applied to specific situations.  Questions may be directed to the committee through the Code Development staff.

Education & Training Committee (formerly known as Career Services Committee)
This committee plays an important role in helping IAPMO respond to the career growth needs of its members by developing strategies for activities and initiatives that will facilitate members’ professional development and career advancement.  Committee members make recommendations regarding new and innovative seminars, workshops, institutes, web-based learning, audio conferences, instructional materials, annual conferences and other educational events.

Certification Exams Committee
The Certification Exams Committee is the forum for identifying the tasks, skills, abilities, and knowledge which are the basis for test items (questions) used in IAPMO’s professional certification examinations.  Sub-groups of this committee create the test items, which conform to national test development standards, to form the discipline-specific examinations.

Education Committee
This committee plays an important role in helping IAPMO respond to the needs of its members for support products to assist them in the enforcement of the Uniform codes, primarily the UPC and UMC Study Guides and the Illustrated Training Manuals for the UPC and UMC.  The committee also evaluates existing products for currency and relevance and provides authorship of materials to be used in new products.

Plumbing Code Workshop Committee
This Committee develops the program for the Plumbing Code Workshop conducted as a component of the educational sessions at the IAPMO Annual Conference.  Committee members work throughout the year to craft the problems and solutions presented to participants during the training program.  The Committee Chairman facilitates the workshop at the Conference.

Mechanical Code Workshop Committee
This Committee develops the program for the Mechanical Code Workshop conducted as a component of the educational sessions at the IAPMO Annual Conference.  Committee members work throughout the year to craft the problems and solutions presented to participants during the training program.  The Committee Chairman facilitates the workshop at the Conference.
