WorldSkills Reinstates Plumbing and Heating Skill Management Team

Shanghai, China (Jan. 27, 2020) — WorldSkills International has announced its new roster of Skill Management Teams, assigned for the next edition of the biggest international vocational education and skills excellence event on earth.

The Plumbing and Heating competition at WorldSkills Shanghai 2021 will reinstate the same trio of global industry experts who oversaw the previous event at WorldSkills Kazan 2019. They are Paul Dodds (United Kingdom) in the role of Skill Competition Manager; Markus Niederer (Switzerland) in the role of Chief Expert; and Ryan Marsh (South Africa) in role of Deputy Chief Expert.

“It is with pleasure that I announce the Skill Management Teams for WorldSkills Shanghai 2021,” said Jane Stokie, Director of Skills Competitions for WorldSkills International. “These Skill Competition Managers, Chief Experts, and Deputy Chief Experts will lead the official skill competitions through the preparation and execution of their respective skill competition for Shanghai in September 2021.”

Launched in 1950, the prestigious WorldSkills Competition in alternating years offers competitors from around the world an opportunity to demonstrate their excellence in a range of different skilled trades. WorldSkills Shanghai 2021, hosted at the National Exhibition and Convention Center in Shanghai, Sept. 22–27, 2021, will be the 46th WorldSkills Competition. Shanghai will become the first city in mainland China to host the event.

WorldSkills is considered to be the global hub for skills excellence and development; a movement that today comprises member organizations from 82 countries and regions across the world. For more information, visit https://worldskills.org/.
