IAPMO Conference

Meet Me (and Many More) in Reno

It is my special honor as IAPMO president to be able to invite you all to our association’s 90th annual Education and Business Conference in Reno, Nevada. There is really no more important, enjoyable, productive, and meaningful event on the IAPMO calendar each year. If you’ve attended a conference in the past, you already know this. If you haven’t, you don’t know what you’re missing.

A year or two after I became an inspector, Lee Overholt, the business manager of Plumbers Local 3, encouraged me to join IAPMO. My response was, “What the heck is that?” I’ve learned since then. A big part of that learning was attending my first conference, 25 years ago in St. Paul, Minnesota. It was overwhelming. I’ve attended almost every conference since then and can say the experience remains the same.

The first thing is the people. You meet so many, and they’re nice, friendly, and always curious to know about you and what you do in your area. The contacts you make at an IAPMO conference will benefit you for the rest of your career and the friendships will last even longer.

Then there are the educational sessions. I attend them every year. We have incredible instructors, who always do a great job in their 90-minute sessions. These are beneficial to so many, especially a young person just getting familiar with the codes.

Add in great keynote speakers, the business meetings, code development, fun outings and dinners … I really can’t say enough about how much I enjoy attending every IAPMO conference and the value I know I get from doing so. It is a very educational experience and a lot of fun.

This year’s event will be co-located with ASSE International’s annual conference, bringing even more top-notch industry professionals together. I encourage you to register today and take advantage of early bird pricing before Aug. 23. See you in Reno!

The Expo area will be in the foyer outside the meetings rooms. Attendees are welcome to interact with the exhibitors before and during breaks in the business and education sessions.
